We have released a twitter extension for google chrome. Conwitter is still in alpha stage, however it’s currently usable and available via google chrome extension gallery.
Compared to other twitter clients, conwitter provides two main features :
- Realtime Updates – You can enable twitter streaming API option in conwitter. This will ask twitter servers to push new tweets the client rather than pulling them in a time interval. In other words, new tweets from your friends will appear instantly as soon as those are published.
- Conversation Style – Can you remember how many times you had to click on in-reply-to link to see what the tweet is about? We are hoping to solve that problem by introducing a new interface where all related tweets are displayed as one conversation. When new tweets arrive, it’ll be appended to the conversation and marked as new. Look at the screenshots below

First things first : Great work guys
[I learned there are some other guys working on this with you]
You are on right track by building around something emerging in popularity. You are in right track by building a *Twitter* extension for chrome.
AFAIK there isn’t a twitter extension that works great for chrome. So you are building an answer for a problem that exists. When I heard about conwitter the first things I thought were these, in summary ‘it’s the right thing to do’.
Doing the right thing does not always lead towards success. You have to do the ‘right thing the right way’ to be successful. And I’m happy to say that you guys are doing it right. The feature set you offer with conwitter is awesome. And I’m sure there will be more.
And finally I’d like to share my idea about a feature. I was thinking of adding this to sociotwitter (Twitter client for plexydesk) but we still didn’t do. Anyway here we go…
“clicking the user avatar loading the tweets from the specific user. I really needed this feature.”
So guys, keep up the good great work.
