Thanks a lot for trying the Online Desktop out! I'm sorry you hit so many problems, but it sounds like you did a great job getting through them. We cetainly want to hear about problems people have, whether in bugzilla.gnome.org (online-desktop) and bugzilla.mugshot.org (mugshot), or on the mailing list (http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/online-desktop-list), or in our IRC channel (#online-desktop on GIMPnet.)

We've done a lot of work fixing things over the last week or two based on a thorough run-through of things for a new user (http://mail.gnome.org/archives/online-desktop-list/2008-April/msg00011.html) and some of the problems you describe above should be fixed now.

I'd be interested in what crashes you are getting for the mugshot client. I've seen one crash: http://bugzilla.mugshot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1394, but can't reproduce it reliably. Your patch looks like it is dealing with some other problem, however.

The xulrunner and gdata problems sound like portability problems to Ubunutu ... (maybe an older version of gdata than what we are expecting) ... so those would be good to get details about as well, since we are mostly testing on Fedora.

Adding MSN contacts into the People widget would be pretty simple, but we don't have the server side infrastructure yet to to store information about MSN contacts, so they might act a bit funny (you couldn't chose to put them at the top of the sidebar, for example.)

Anyways, thanks again for trying it out, and congratulations on getting it running.
